Do you find it difficult to give love, but easy to accept it? Or do you easily give love, but struggle to accept it?

This is a simple meditation to open you up to love.

For this 10 minute meditation you can find any sort of comfortable pose. I do it seated tall with crossed legs, but it can also be done laying (even in bed). You must be able to turn the palms up to the sky in whatever position you choose. Placing the hands on the lap, or at the sides.

Take a moment to ground yourself, settle in. Start with some simple breaths to tune in to the body. Release the tension from your body to prepare for meditating.

Breathing slowly in and out through the nose, send your focus and attention towards your heart, and the area around it in the body. Imagine you can breathe directly in to the heart center.

Shift attention to the left palm. Take a moment to feel any sensations in the hand, palm, and fingertips. With each inhalation, breathe in love, and move it towards the heart. Let it reside there. Inhaling love. As you exhale, settle it in to the heart. Notice if you feel any energy or heat in the left hand or arm, or maybe in the chest. Let your focus remain here for a few rounds of breath.

Next, move your awareness towards your right hand. As you exhale, send love out in to the world. Inhale, and as the breath moves out, let love move down from your heart, through the right arm, and out of the right palm.

To find balance between the two sides, to merge the giving and the receiving of love in your life. Breathe in love through the left hand, move it up to the heart, then exhale love out through the right hand. Settle in to the flow of love and breath.

Bring the hands together to touch at the heart. Connect the giving and receiving sides. Press the thumbs in to the heart, in Anjali Mudra. Bow into it.

Before you get on with your day, I highly recommend taking a few moments to journal and reflect on anything that came up for you. Which side was easier? Did you feel more sensation in one side than the other? Do you find any symbolism in that in terms of giving and receiving love?
